Submersible Sump Pumps
WST and SPT Series

WST33 / WST50
The WST and SPT series are part of the range of Wayne Sump Pumps, but we haven’t gone into a lot of detail on these products mainly because we don’t recommend them. Some of these models are a little older or even discontinued, and they’re not as durable and hard-wearing as the rest of the products Wayne produce. Other series within their range are far superior with a better warranty and more quality.
SPF Series

SPF33 / SPF50
The SPF series of Sump Pumps can be confusing if you’re used to the CDU products within the range. They are almost identical in terms of dimensions and design. The SPF series is UL agency approved and comes with a one year warranty from the manufacturer, whereas the CDU products tend to have a longer warranty and are CSA agency approved instead. Other than this, the same strong, corrosion resistant materials and motors are used as in the CDU range. They are even designed to fit in Sump Pits 11 inches wide, just like the CDU series.
CDU Series

CDU790 / CDU800

CDU980 / CDU1000
The CDU sump pump series are all submersible pumps and are designed to be the quietest sump pumps on the market. The brand describes them as ‘the hardest working pumps you’ll never hear’.
The CDU series which has a lot of variations of products which are different sizes and have slightly different qualities, but they are all pretty powerful. To look at them you would be forgiven for confusing them for being the same product. These are designed to fit within a sump pit that is 11 inches in diameter or smaller.
All of the CDU series and the CICDU products which are a part of this range also have a vertical float switch design, and the float itself is designed to be leak free and resistant to the conditions.
The numbers in the CDU series correlate with the power they have to offer. For instance the CDU 1000 is the most powerful in the range, coming in at a huge 1 Horse Power which is a lot of power for a sump pump to offer, and is more than enough for pretty much any home. This power gets less as you go down in numbers through the range.
Recommended Wayne Submersible Sump Pump: WAYNE CDU790
Also part of the same series within the Wayne range, the CDU790 is at the midrange of the market in terms of price. The CDU790 is a little older than many of their other products, but is still in circulation, and the ⅓ HP is more than enough for many homes around America.
Other clever benefits include a strainer which is designed to act as a filter and stop any smaller debris from getting into the mechanism and causing issues functioning to the best of its potential. The pump has a reliable float and it sits within a sump pit of 11” or bigger diameter.
Battery Powered Sump Pump Models

ESP25n

WSM3300
The WS series comprises of WSS products such as the WSS30V, WSM3300, WSS20V, WSS30V and WSS40Vm. These are battery powered pumps or full sump pump systems featuring a primary system and a backup system. This is the full solution for the home, as it is recommended that a main sump pump has a battery backup included. This should kick in if the primary pump doesn’t do its job for any reason, for instance if there is a power cut in extreme weather conditions.
Also within the WS series of products is the WSM330, this is just the battery backup sump system on its own. It is the same pump which comes included if you buy the WSS30V, for instance, but sold separately. The flow rate of this product is 3300 GPH and this reduces to 2300 at 10 feet lift. The battery gives 26 hours of use and can be set up with an alarm to come on to alert you if it is being used.
Some of the WS series have slightly different float switches, for instance the WST50 which has a piggyback tether float switch.
Recommended Wayne Battery-Powered Sump Pump: WAYNE WSS30V
This is one of the newer products within the Wayne range, and proof they are always innovating and finding new and efficient ways of doing things. The WSS30V may not be the system for you if you are looking for something which is really affordable, and it certainly costs a pretty penny, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t one of the best! In fact, when it comes to a sump pump which includes a backup system, there aren’t many (if any) better. The pump can move over 5000 GPH, which is truly impressive for a home sump pump.
Warranties
Wayne is a brand which is perhaps a little unusual in that the warranties vary depending on which product within the range you are purchasing, but a lot of their sump pumps come with three year warranties, meaning you can rest assured that you are safe from anything going wrong for this time, and if something should happen which shows your model to be faulty you can claim for a replacement.
Some of the products in their range don’t offer very long warranties. Three years or more is what is needed to class as a high warranty and there are many products which do not fill this brief within the range. The WST50, WST33, WSM3300, SPF33, SPF50 and CDT50 all have just one or two years warranty, which is not overly impressive.
Conclusion
The three Wayne sump pumps we’ve reviewed above show how different the range is in terms of features and price points, and you can get everything from the basics up to the top-of-the-line sump pumps all while using the brilliant Wayne brand. The models also show the Wayne speciality, which is submersible sump pumps with a lot of power.
If you are looking for a pedestal model then it may be worth looking elsewhere, but for something to sit inside your sump pit then it is worth researching these products, especially the ones with a longer warranties.
